Lorene M. Tate, 87, of Louisa, took her place in Heaven beside her beloved husband James C. Tate on May 11, 2010. She was born September 2, 1922 to Willie Thomas Mallory and Mary E. Waldrop Mallory.
Lorene is survived by a niece; Doris L. Tignor and her husband Ted of Henrico, a great nephew; Michael Tignor and his wife Tina of Mechanicsville, a great-great nephew; Christopher Tignor and great-great niece; Jennifer Tignor both of Mechanicsville, a sister-in-law; Annis Mallory of Louisa, a special cousin; Evelyn Toney of Spotsylvania, nephews-in-law; W.R. Deskins, Jr. and Alan Deskins both of Tidewater, and Frankie McDaniel of Chester. She also leaves behind her beloved and devoted friend Pat Byrd and the entire Byrd family.
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters; Frances Morris and Hazel Cave, and a brother; Nelson Mallory.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Woodward Funeral Home in Louisa. A funeral service conducted by Dr. John W. Turner will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 14, 2010 at Gilboa Christian Church in Mineral. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Louisa.
