Bettie (Lovey) Deacon, 71, passed away peacefully at her home in Louisa, Friday May 14th. She was born January 9, 1939 in Bluefield, WV.
Bettie is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Deacon, devoted children, David McDerment, Sandra Campbell, Karen Jones, Kevin McDerment and Brian McDerment, five grandchildren, Christina Hill, Dawn Campbell, Kayla McDerment, Brian McDerment Jr., Justin Dowell and Mark McDerment; six great grandchildren Sabrina, Tyana, Victor, Belle, J. T. and Leighia. She is also survived by her mother Mrs. W. M. Hess and her siblings C. Tommy Hess, John Hess, Barbara Rudich, Linda Nuckols, Carol Nuckols, Julia Sprouse and a number of nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Preceding her in death were her father Mr. W. C. Hess, both sets of grandparents, a granddaughter Amy Lynn and a great granddaughter KaSandra Dawn.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2010 at Woodward Funeral Home in Louisa where a funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2010. The Rev. Mike Durham will be conducting the service. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Mineral.
