Robert M. Gargus, 79, of Louisa, formerly of Northern Virginia, passed away Monday, May 17, 2010. He was born March 26, 1931 in Bay, MO to Matthew L. Gargus and Lena Meuller Gargus. Robert was an active member of both Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Buckner and St. Jude Catholic Church in Mineral.
Robert leaves behind his wife of 39 years; Mary Ellen Gargus, sons; Keith Gargus of NC, Kevin Gargus of MO, John Gargus and his wife Deborah of PA, daughters; Karen Ware and husband Chris of Stafford, Colleen Juras and husband Paul of NC, a sister; Pat Lemmons and husband Jim of NM, grandchildren; Melissa Certo, Michael Certo, Matthew Ware, Sean Caldwell, Ryan Caldwell and Margot Gargus. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Maynard Gargus and Homer Gargus and sister Bernice Bingham.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Woodward Funeral Home in Louisa with a prayer service beginning at 7:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010 at St. Jude Catholic Church in Mineral. Burial will be private.
