Jessie "Jack" Johnson of Louisa left this earth on Saturday, July 24 2010.
Jessie was born February 5, 1924 to the late Marion and Annie Johnson of Louisa. HE is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Louise Thomas Johnson, and his brothers, Marion and Leroy Johnson and his sister Virginia Johnson Adams.
Survivors include his daughters Ruth and husband Glen of Mineral; Virginia and her husband Leonard of Louisa; his sons, Jessie, Jr., and wife Jody of Louisa; Marion "Duke" and wife Bobbie of Maiden, North Carolina. He had 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Mr. Johnson was a life long member of Bells Crossroads Christian Church. He retired from the James River Correctional Center after 38 years of service. HE was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Woodward Funeral Home, The Rev. Josh Turner will officiate. Interment will follow in the Macedonia United Methodist church Cemetery.
Family will receive friends, Tuesday, July 27, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel.
